Marhaban Daisy to Egypt!  We have been busy this morning!  We learned new songs, came up with camp names, and decorated our buckets.  We also did Archery today!  We hope you have a great week at camp and enjoy traveling to all the wonderful countries at Camp Oh Ah Lay Lay.

Hola Daisy!

Welcome to Mexico! Today you came to us when we were making our beautiful red flower cooties.  We enjoy wearing them in our hair like senioritas! You also saw us in Archery. Baloo said that we did great!  Next, our awesome PA’s, Apani and Barn Girl, are teaching us to make dream catchers.  Soon, we will be starting one of  the funnest Mexican traditions—PINATA’s!!!!!  We hope that you have a fabulous time traveling the world (at camp, that is)

Hallo Daisy!! Today we went to see Baloo at the archery range.  Everybody shotand hit the target!  Then all the girls got a passport and decorated them.  Plus we got our picture taken.  We look amazing!!  Also we got group photo’s and we wore our Bavarian hats.  We put little white flowers on them. (Cute right?!!) At the souvenir shop we made one of the funnest craft.  When we got back we drew magnificent castles.  You helped us create a Olympic chant—Deutschland! We had such a great time with you Daisy!  See you soon, Daisy!

Hey Daisy,

It’s been an amazing first day of camp.  I hope you had as much fun as I have.  This morning after our flag ceremony done by our Program Aides I dressed up like a crazy tourist and got myself (or at least tried to) into lots of trouble.  But because we have such great campers they knew all the camp rules and helped me stay on the straight and narrow. Today as you visited some of the countries represented at Camp Oh Ah Lay Lay I watched as girls visited the souvenir shop and made a very cool snow globe.  I also got to see some very cool buckets that each of the girls decorated.  And the flags...my goodness they were

something else.  I love how the girls made each of their flags theirs.  Very Cool!

I even got to spend a little time in the Archery Range with our friend Baloo!

Oh Daisy—It’s going to be such a great week.  I can’t wait to see what tomorrow

brings.  Sleep Tight!  See you tomorrow!

Bonngiorno, Daisy!

Welcome to Italy!  This is our second morning of camp and we are coloring our passport covers.  Yesterday we painted our flag, decorated our camp shirts, made edible campfires and created our very own Leaning tower of Pisa!  We can’t wait to visit the souvenir shop this morning, make dutch oven orange cup cakes and hit the archery range this afternoon!  See you around the globe!

Ciao!

Today I went to Ireland, Egypt & Germany on a letterbox hunt.  I also made a fan with the Japanese Hanas and learned how a Japanese Tea ceremony goes.  The “way of tea” was great fun.  (Chanoyo)  Tomorrow we will paint our faces like Geisha and have an official tea ceremony.  Very Exciting!

We made Mulligan Stew here in Australia today.  Thank you for your help with that Daisy! It looked and smelled horrible but tasted delicious.  We brainstormed ideas about our Girl Scout skit too!

It was fun making the soup and brainstorming skits with Juliette - Bookworm

Hi Daisy - It’s Me Thumper Again!  I can’t believe that it is Wednesday already.  I guess it is true what they say about time flying when you are having a good time. I can’t believe that camp is half over.  Today I hope your adventures were as fun as mine were.  I started the day meeting with the best staff a camp could ask for, and then greeting travelers as they arrived with huge smiles on their faces.  How lucky am I?!!! Then I was invited to Japan to participate in their tea ceremony.  Daisy I hope you got a chance to see their all faces decorated.  They looked amazing.  Even Friday, Tink and Lavender had their faces painted like geishas. I had tea and cookies in Japan with Mama Bear (the best camp nurse we could ask for)—what a treat! Then I had lunch in Egypt.  We had a yummy pita delight.  They were made by the girls and they were delicious!  And it was super cool to sit in their camp site and hear about all of their adventures.  While I was there they were challenged to Little Red Wagon 3 times.  That was one tough group!! Also while I was visiting Egypt, Italy brought me over a Italian soda that they had made.  MMMmmmm is all I can say Daisy!  And then when I didn't think that I could eat another bite I visited my desk at the United Nations to find that the Bahamas had left me Pineapple Upside Down cake that they made in the dutch over.  Oh my!! YUMMY!  And it gets even better because tonight I get to stay with our amazing program aides and celebrate all their hard work.  And tomorrow the entire camp will spend the night.  I can hardly wait!! Well Daisy - have  fun traveling.

I love hearing about all you

adventures!

China had so much fun letterboxing with Daisy today!  Daisy also made lucky red envelopes and enjoyed eating moon cakes with everyone.  Daisy was invited to our tea party but had to leave and visit other countries.

Welcome to Ireland Daisy!

                                 Good times, Good Friends

                                            Good Health to you…

                                                       And the luck of the

                                                                  Irish in all you do!

                                                                             Thank you for visiting!!

Welcome to the boys in Norway!

During Daisy’s short visit with us she helped us plan our skits.  She also joined us for our torch snacks.  There was a close call at the pool for bubble toes during the Olympics so Daisy decided it was best to move on.

                                                       Thanks for visiting Norway Daisy!

Adventure!!

Today Daisy played bubble toes with the Bahamas Unit.  We had a great snack that was all tourched up - YUM!!  Then she painted her face with us.  Daisy really enjoyed picking up marbles with her toes.  She also helped us pull our   candles from the sand.  They looked great!

Thanks for the visit!

OPA~~

Today we traveled around Greece!  We ate some delicious dump cake after

lunch, painted our faces and played lots of games with the Program Aids.  For

dinner we had yummy hamburgers, watermelon, and baked beans.  It was

delicious!  We did our skit tonight in front of the camp, and Daisy thought we

did great.  She was really proud of all the skits.  Then we went to campfire.

The PA’s led campfire and Daisy loved all the camp songs.  She also loved

hearing that so many of the girls can’t wait until they are old enough to be a

Program Aid.  Encouraging girl leaders is very important to Daisy!    Good

night Daisy!  We need to brush our teeth and get to our tents.  Our leader said

we could talk for a little bit before we go to sleep but I am so tired from all the fun things we have done this week.  And tomorrow morning we get to make smores after breakfast.  I can hardly wait!

Oh Daisy,

Where has this week gone?  Thank you for coming to our closing camp fire.  It was so cool to honor girls and give them some fun awards.  And the skits.  So much work and fun in those skits.  I saw how impressed you were!  And then we did the raffle for all the food items given to the camp to help our community and we gave a free week of camp to a young lady that participated in the food drive.  It felt so good to give to those that contribute to their community.  Daisy then we watched the little Daisy’s do the last flag ceremony for this camp year and they did such an amazing job.  Then Daisy the one part of camp that I don’t like.  We had to say see you later…. To new and old friends.  I know camp can’t be everyday Daisy but it’s hard to tell our new friends bye for now.  The good part is all the memories I have, and of course I know that we will be back next summer. And of course I can rewatch the DVD every time I am missing my friends.  It’s been an amazing week of camp, we have had so much fun.  Thank you Daisy for not only joining us but for being the visionary in starting scouting for Girls.  I love that we have a safe place where we can do anything we want without fear of being judged, or told we can’t.  We are encouraged to try new things and to take the lead.  Use our Girl Power!!  Well Daisy, I am sure tired.  So I will bid you goodbye for now.

See you next summer - It will be so fun to celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting!!
